Whoever is announcing the sets for the girls u15 has a magical voice
Anonymous asked: What is take the floor? I know it's a show but why is everyone talking like its a summer camp? Why is there a new cast every 10 minutes? I'm really confused :/
It’s a combination of a show and a camp. ~60 dancers are chosen from online auditions, and they all come to Ireland for two weeks where they learn the choreography to a show created by Shane McAvinchey and Paula Goulding. The rehearsal process takes ten days and at the end, the show is performed (it started out being performed once but now they do it three different times). Dancers get the opportunity to work with choreographers like Ciara Sexton and Breandan de Gallai, and there are outings like going to see Riverdance, etc. The cast is different each year, and is being announced as dancers are selected.
Anonymous asked: every time i dance at a feis, i don't place. it's been months. i feel like i'll never get into prelim and i want it so bad, but every feis i go home feeling like giving up competing :(
Oh no, I’m sorry :(
I have been in that situation and pretty much every I know has been in that situation at some point! For example, I went to oireachtas 4 times and never recalled, and I was always so so upset. But my dad, who is a coach, always told me that nothing was going to change unless I did. I never took his advice and just kept on going and not recalling. Finally I understood what he meant, I spent 6 months working harder than ever before, and the next oireachtas I recalled!
So what I’m trying to say is, are you making the change? Unless you do something differently, this might continue to happen. My advice would be to analyze your results and your comments, as well as what corrections your teacher consistently gives you, and make a plan of what you should do to achieve your goal of placing at a feis. Try to both fix the things you’re doing incorrectly and make the things you do well even better!
I know you can do it!
SOS my mom thinks I should consider doing take the floor again (provided I get in) instead of nationals and I DONT HAVE AN INKLING OF CLUE WHAT TO DO
I’m so happy to be going to Louisville this week. I’ll be visiting some colleges (including my current top choice, I’m praying that I’ll love it) and I have meetings with members of the psychology departments at most of the schools I’m seeing, so I’m nervous but excited!
I’ll also be at Buckeye Feis next weekend in Columbus. It’s my last time wearing my red dress… So I’m sad about that. But, considering I’m about to send in my forms to Gavin for my new dress, it’s not all bad!
I don’t think I ever told you all, I changed my dress design again… And it’s funny because the main color is literally what I kept saying I would never do but I think I’m going to love it. Hopefully. Haha.
Anyway I think that’s everything I wanted to say! Hope everyone has a great week!
Ugh… As if we don’t have enough gossiping and celebrity scandal in the rest of our lives, someone is now trying to bring that into Irish Dance… Seriously? Why don’t you go practice dance, or do something productive with your time rather than playing paparazzi for Ceili, Julia and Brogan. Kthxbye
Yeah pretty much my thoughts on the matter
Anonymous asked: What is the name of the show with that screencap "Irish dance looks really hard" (or something along those lines) and do you know where I could watch it? Thanks!
It’s called Kim of Queens, and episodes are available if you go to Lifetime’s website, but you have to log in with your TV provider so if you can’t make that work, google “watch kim of queens episode 9” and you should be able to find it!
Anonymous asked: I have two camelia rose questions! 1.) where can you find a full catalogue of their wigs? their website is never updated. 2.) how do people get their wigs to be multiple colors (kind of like ombré... I think Amy Harley might have had a wig like this) thank you!
themissingbeat made a catalogue post last year on tumblr! There may have been some wigs added since but it has most of the wigs that CR offer.
You can also try their facebook or their instagram!
So in 2016, if the southern region oireachtas continues to schedule age groups like they have done in recent years, I will be dancing on my 20th birthday and I think that will be my last oireachtas. 🙈
In other words I have three years left.
organisers of majors I would be truly grateful if you would consider replacing the block of steps with one of these
the 3/4 stairs after my jig is just too much for my legs to take
HAHA THIS IS AN AMAZING IDEA
